Feger finishes fourth with World of Outlaws at I-55 Raceway
Week One champion Jason Feger rejoined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals this past week as the grueling tour continued through Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois.
Feger delivered his best finish of the week on Monday at Wisconsin’s Wilmot Raceway, where he chased late leader Drake Troutman to the checkered flag to claim a runner-up result in the 30-lap main event.
Tuesday at Davenport Speedway brought misfortune, as a flat tire derailed his night. Following a Wednesday rainout, Feger returned to action Thursday at Iowa’s Lee County Speedway for a $5,000-to-win showdown. Forced to use a provisional to start the A-Main, he advanced six positions to finish 13th.
The tour shifted to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 over the weekend for a co-sanctioned doubleheader with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series. Feger opened the two-day affair with a heat race win on Friday and carried that momentum into the $12,000-to-win feature, finishing fourth behind Bobby Pierce, Tim McCreadie, and Ryan Gustin. Ashton Winger completed the top five.
Feger’s weekend ended on a frustrating note, retiring on lap seven of Saturday’s St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff, then exiting early again on Sunday at Lincoln Speedway—this time while leading the Hell Tour feature.
