Feger nabs top-10 at Fairbury during Illinois Speedweek
Jason Feger hustled through his home state of Illinois during a rain-soaked, five-night stretch of FloRacing Night in America and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS)-sanctioned competition.
After a washout on Tuesday at LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway, Feger kicked off Illinois Speedweek one night later at the high-banked Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.). Unloading against a 39-car field, Feger claimed the final transfer spot in his B-main and climbed from 22nd-to-16th in the 50-lap feature.
Mother Nature returned on Thursday and Friday to cancel scheduled stops at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway and Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway, with Feger’s Titan Industries-backed Longhorn Chassis returning to action on Saturday evening at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway. Battling another loaded field of 48 LOLMDS entries, Feger timed in fourth overall in his qualifying group before capturing a runner-up heat race finish. The nearby Bloomington, Ill.-native started eighth in the 60-lap, $30,000-to-win finale and advanced two positions to bring home a sixth place result.
